Art In The Garden

DSCF5382Just before popping off on my holidays I called in at this event at the Nursery Tavern, organised by My Life Project https://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Life-Project/275414552515098 . I had expected a small scale event with just a few local artists, how wrong I was! Kisk and Trik 9 were working together on a wall.

DSCF5375Faunagraphic was busy on a beautiful piece featuring British wildlife.

DSCF5395Meth had been and gone by the time I got there.

DSCF5378Caught the lovely Mr Coloquix at work.

DSCF5398 StitchJaer and Gzos had completed this awesome wall.

DSCF6690Such completed a great piece featuring roadrunner.

DSCF669410 and Espre had done their bit.

DSCF6701Ryak, Lone, Kode and Cantastic Art each made a colourful contribution, stunning wall.

DSCF6702No party would be complete without Eugene Booms.

DSCF6716Cantastic art also sneaked in a cheeky 3 wise monkeys piece.

DSCF5379The only work I didn’t get a finished shot of, the My Life Project van, undergoing a makeover from CoLor Art.

DSCF6697 StitchThe collaboration by Kisk and Trik9, super, smashing, great!

DSCF5386I’ve seen this fellow before at graff events, I think he’s working under cover, bloody good disguise though!

A lot more artists were painting than I expected, many others had called in for support and a catch up, it was great to see so many friendly faces.  🙂

Such a fantastic event, lots of artists and lots of spectators, the landlord was an absolute star as well, I do hope they do it again.

Guess Who’s Back? Back Again!

DSCF5328Quick round up of stuff seen out and about, got a bit of a backlog, due to being offline so to speak. First up a Barbie sticker, new to the scene but putting the work in and getting out there. Girl Power!

DSCF5320EMA gave the Access space a new lick of paint.

DSCF5311 StitchRiseone and Jonas were on the gatecrasher boards briefly.

DSCF5275Suek and Sour created a number of new characters, this one is by Suek, I think this little chap is my most favourite.DSCF5283CoLor Art, stopped taking the medication I see 😉

DSCF5291Interesting pasteup by Kent, a sculptor, I like these, definitely different.

DSCF5299Espre, what can I say, love it!DSCF6671Cantastic Art, trying something a little different with a reproduction of an image that’s been floating around the internet. I don’t know who it was by, not that it matters really in my opinion, it’s a quality piece and a fitting nod to the original.

DSCF6675Trevor by Trevor, with teeth!DSCF6682Skint, going green, an eco craftsman?DSCF6689Xhastexo and Bine have formed a formidable partnership, producing bigger and better pieces one after the other at the moment, excellent!

So yes, I’m back on it, more posts coming very soon 🙂

Put Another Coin In The Meter!

DSCF5345Apologies for the lack of service apparently I’ve used up my free allocation for my blog and have to now pay an annual fee. As I am on holiday at the moment, I’m coming up a little short, but on my return will be found most evenings on the Town Hall steps!  😉 In the meantime please enjoy yet another masterpiece from H2i, Pawski Mace and Shoe, who produce the most wonderful work which gets targeted far too often by numpties, whom I hope get knee capped very soon.

It’s All Going on!

DSCF5120Mars has been revisiting his childhood again, Orville, he’s his very best friend!  😉

DSCF5118 Time? I’m really bad at reading letter pieces, but I do like it.DSCF5113This is something different, I’m guessing not anyone local, love the style.

DSCF5106I worry when Booms goes quiet, but when he then reappears with an epic masterpiece like this, I’m reassured that balance is restored.

DSCF5092How many hamsters can you fit in a phone box, answers on a postcard please to D7606.

DSCF5091Had to revisit this place because my first shots of this awesome Rateone piece were rubbish, think I’ve done it justice now.

DSCF5086Sour, making good use of any space.DSCF5083Tekonta Secta and CoLor, just wonderful.DSCF5072C3 x D7606, becoming regular visitors lately, the more the merrier!DSCF5075Mr Booms and CoLor, a lesson in painting on stairs and the decay of a dead pigeon.

DSCF5047A Coloquix lady being lusted over by a Rateone monster while a jealous Greenz rabbit looks on furiously, it’s like an episode of Eastenders…DSCF5061Not just a Mars favourite, one of mine too, Pinky and the Brain.DSCF5032Jaer,  love the piece but have to say I don’t know who the little fellow is.

DSCF5039One of Kid Acnes’ stabby women, not sure if it’s been doctored but she looks like she’s holding a vibrator to me, or perhaps she’s a ladyboy?DSCF5042Not sure who did this but I have my suspicions.DSCF5043Bob, he’s a devil!DSCF5046Dyson and Rambo, throw up masters at the moment.

On a bit of a catch up spree at the moment, hopefully will get another post up in the next day or two.

Hagglers Corner Mini Jam

DSCF5129Hagglers Corner ‘a creative community of makers and doers’ held a little graff jam at the weekend. A cosy little affair held in the courtyard with music and everything from Thornbridge beers to hot chocolate available! Artists included locally based BB, Xanone, Volt and Dr W ,along with Jo Peel, Eery and an artist who I only know as Nick (aka Fats).

DSCF5167BB and Eery, men at work.

DSCF5158When I grow up, I’m going to have a black book, they fascinate me!

DSCF5143Jo Peel, working on a local landmark, can you tell what it is yet?

DSCF5127Xanone and Dr W discussing tactics.

DSCF5145The artist known only as Nick (aka Fats) expanding his livestock.

DSCF5183 StitchThe finished wall, well almost finished, a real variety of styles yet somehow it all goes together. I really like the setting in the courtyard too.DSCF5192The cows produce the milk.

DSCF5188Milk Men by BB, Sugar and Spice by Eery.

DSCF5187Granellis Ice Cream, mixing all the ingredients together, from the cow to the shop, love it!

DSCF5200 StitchApologies for the poor quality of this pic but there was a vehicle in the way, it looks much better in the ‘flesh’, perhaps you should go and go and have a look 🙂

I like Hagglers Corner it’s a quirky, really chilled out, friendly place, I hope they have another graff jam soon.

Graffiti Central

DSCF4977I am often amazed at the detail and skill that can go into graffiti, whether it be letters or characters, but sometimes it’s the simple things, that work best. I love this cheeky Bob piece, so simple, a quick throw up, but brilliant. I could watch him glaring at passers by all day.

DSCF4969 StitchJaer had some friends over to brighten these boards in the city centre.

DSCF4957 Stitch Mila’s been seeing double, with these gloriously sinister twins and Cantastics’ skills continue to go from strength to strength,

DSCF4951 Rayna has done a few of these around town, this is the best in my opinion.

DSCF4947 It’s a bear with a monobrow, what more can I say….Although I did manage, accidentally, to crash some band making a video at this location today, which made me laugh…

DSCF4944 Awesome character by Imer, letters by Jonas and then a quality Dyson piece as standard.

DSCF4938 Rambo, First Blood, I’m sure John J would be pleased.

DSCF4927C3, Rate One and D7606, interesting combination, like it a lot.

Some lovely things going on in town at the moment, good to see so many arty visitors making the trip too. I do hope the ‘in house’ shenanigans don’t spoil it.

Wakefield Part Trois

DSCF4241Third and final trip, probably, to Wakefield and the last ‘Revive’ Jam of the year, and what a turnout! Kem Mef paid a visit and did a cracking piece that I managed to not get a single decent shot of.

DSCF4236CoLor Art  dropped a cool Chopper Harris character.

DSCF4374Cantastic, did something a little different to anything I’ve seen him do before, really like the elephants.

DSCF4487Spel and Beyond flew over, dropped an awesome piece and even had time to pimp a car!

DSCF4494Was really impressed that one of the organisers had been able to persuade Kelzo to come over too, I hadn’t seen him in action before, great to see.

DSCF4511There was much more full wall, as in floor to ceiling coverage than at previous Jams, they look amazing, well done to the guys working off ladders, it can’t have been easy.

DSCF4573Alfreshco were on hand to supply paint as needed and there guy Kak did this stunning wall too.

DSCF4550UKS came prepared, no balancing on ladders for them.

DSCF4710 StitchaSheffield was once again well represented, Ryak Lone and Kode on the case.

DSCF4720 StitchAdopted yorkshireman Shoe collaborated with Mace, Pawski and Foundry to produce this jaw dropping wall with characters Clay, Aisha and Cougar from the graphic novel and movie, The Losers.

DSCF4726 StitchMars and Evo were there as well, bang on as always.

DSCF4735 StitchThe completed wall from UKS, apologies for the pic, not the best joined image, but their production is fantastic.

DSCF4730 StitchAnother full wall, love it!

DSCF4739Kink Dhfam did the bottom eye and mind boggling piece, and another artist from the northeast did the piece above.

DSCF4741 StitchPryme, Inca, Spymad and Hull Graffiti, absolutely bonkers mental and fabulous!

DSCF4345By far the coolest customer that I met on the day, Ruby. She ran the burger van in between playing ball and refereeing in local disputes, an absolute star.

Apologies to any artist painting that aren’t featured, once again just too much good stuff, not that I’m complaining…

Sadly though I have to report a number of the large pieces had been dogged within days, jealousy makes children of some people it would seem…. but lots of photos were taken on the day by lots of photographers, so the images will remain in all their glory on line at least.
