Sorry for the gap between posts, been caught up in the festive spirit (blatant lie!) Anyway let’s get back on track. I do like stickers and slaps, nice to see a Tom Newell one.CoLor and Narke and an attack of the munchies I think.Cantastic Art, becoming an increasingly regular visitor to Sheffield, I like this much. This gorgeous lion is part of an amazing looking mural on the Hallam Uni Students Union building , painted by graphic design graduate Sachin Limbachia, can’t wait to see it without the scaffolding around it.Gzos and Jaer, laying claim and brightening more of the bored boards in our city.Slugger, much more than that I don’t know, quirky characters though 🙂 Heard this character was being retired, a pity if it’s true, he’s one of my favourites, by Riseone. And finally, the last in the series….Bunny! this one is by Alex Ekins
Quick round up of stuff seen out and about, got a bit of a backlog, due to being offline so to speak. First up a Barbie sticker, new to the scene but putting the work in and getting out there. Girl Power!
Espre, what can I say, love it!Cantastic Art, trying something a little different with a reproduction of an image that’s been floating around the internet. I don’t know who it was by, not that it matters really in my opinion, it’s a quality piece and a fitting nod to the original.
Trevor by Trevor, with teeth!Skint, going green, an eco craftsman?Xhastexo and Bine have formed a formidable partnership, producing bigger and better pieces one after the other at the moment, excellent!
So yes, I’m back on it, more posts coming very soon 🙂
It’s not often I’m beaten in my attempts to see a piece, but when there aren’t any stairs, I am! There is a way, but I’m in no rush to have any more broken bones, thank you very much. It’s a shame because there are about 4 pieces up there that I’ll never see, can’t catch ’em all I guess…
Trying to catch up on pieces I’ve missed, so went for a whistle stop tour of a few sites, not easy when you’re doing it by bus and foot, all good for the fitness regime though! Found Superman, check. Just Wonder Woman to get now. At least I know where she is, thanks to a little help.
Half of me is seriously not happy about this piece encroaching on Phlegms cat/manatee, but the other half can see that it is deteriorating with time. I quite like the Smut piece, but it will be a sad day when the Phlegm piece has gone altogether.
Though not the busiest time of year but some writers/artists are still compelled to go out and paint, I literally fell off the bus when I saw this Boms piece! I also got the weirdest feeling of deja vu and I don’t know why.
Skint Riseone and others painted at the ballcourts.
Drot/Bob and Kid Acne had been there as well.
Trik9 and Meth had done a wall, I’m really loving Meths stuff at the moment.
I’m not a mad keen Kid Acne fan, but I do love the Stabby Women and there has definitely been a new batch, don’t know when they went up, but it’s nice to see them again.
I love Barbara the Horse!
I don’t pretend to know what this is about but it made me chuckle.
Even in the depths of winter the streets just keep on giving, just wish it was a bit warmer – and sunny – and not icy…
Good to see new pieces by CoLor and Skint. Getting back to a semblance of normality was great and I really appreciated that the local lads had kept been busy creating things for me to go and look at, not that they had done it for me really, but all the same…
Although to be fair, I was still on catch up too, like this CoLor x Narke x Mila piece, which I had known of for a while but not been able to access.
Rocket01 and Boms wall, fantastic!
Seasonal piece by Riseone, whom I believe I met although he was adamant he wasn’t him…
Atik, relocated from Brighton and a top bloke, had seen some of his work before and not known who it was.
Not sure of the names, but I believe these guys are from the north east, they certainly get about a bit.
Espre, love this piece, he doesn’t paint as often as I’d like.
This was done a couple of years ago by Ziru a french artist, I’ve only just seen it and I really like it.
So, I’m trying to get straight for the end of the year, so I can start 2013 blogging in real time instead of retrospective, so I apologise that I may have omitted some valuable works, it won’t happen again, honest.
Mr Phlegm finds the oddest things to paint, I trudged a long way down an extremely uneven and quite dangerous track to get here and once here realised there was a much less painful way.
