Art In The Garden 2

DSCF5265For the second year running the wonderful people at the Nursery Tavern on Ecclesall Road held the Art in the Garden jam organised by My Life Project. A great turn out once again, with a few new faces, along with the local artists.DSCF5263Trik9 took a break from sorting his exhibition to join the fun.DSCF5253Great to see Bine in action too.DSCF5248Good to see my old friend on it, no longer resident in Sheffield but always turns up to a jam. DSCF5232Black, I think, lovely chap!DSCF5260 StitchMeth, awesomeness inspired by the Arctic Monkeys’ lyrics, and an amazing Ice Cube portrait by Pawski.DSCF5363CoLor made a colourful splash as always.  🙂 DSCF5368 (2)Hadn’t seen Espre in ages, really good to see him, bangin’ piece too.  DSCF5366Trik9 finished piece.DSCF5255Britney came and did her thang, what a star!DSCF5369 StitchA feast for the eyes.DSCF5367Hyro, finished piece, seen some of his work in Leeds I think, I’ve got a thing about pigeons, many people hate ’em, but not me.DSCF5361The only piece not finished on the day was by Kisk, but seeing as he was the one who organised the whole event and one very busy chap with his work at My Life Project at the best of times, I can let him off, this time…..

Art in the Garden will be on again next year, try and make it if you can, it’s a really nice chilled day out. But in the meantime check out MLP they are involved in some fantastic community projects and workshops.

Summer Sessions

DSCF2905All this damp weather is good for fungi apparently. DSCF2830Espre, lovely guy who doesn’t paint often enough.DSCF2823 Stitch Meth, Trik9 and Rank in a blue mood.DSCF2815 StitchMars goes big!DSCF2991Your Mum’s Your Dad (don’t ask, I’ve no idea!)getting up!DSCF2885 StitchZero and Kode with an awesome tribute to the sad passing of King Robbo.DSCF2243 StitchSour and friends.DSCF2537Brayk, what can I say…, definitely different, but didn’t last long.DSCF2660Sico, popping up all over the place.DSCF2911Surge, Britney, Pawski, Mr Jones and Mace, A stunning wall celebrating the new Planet of the Apes film. DSCF2989Absolutely love this piece by Rocket01, thought I’d show you a close up.DSCF2979Beautiful bird in the nest by Faunagraphic.

So happy that the local artists are keeping me busy, love my city 🙂

Waders Not Included

DSCF8162So it’s throwing it down, freezing cold, howling gale, time to go hunting for a piece next to a swollen river, obviously. I guess there are worse things to have as your last view on the world than a cat-carrying water siren by Coloquix.DSCF8174 StitchGzos, Pawski and Shoe, another awesome wall to brighten the city centre.DSCF8185Stabby women, the new batch from Kid Acne, particularly liking the unicorn.DSCF8152Not an especially new Xhastexo and Bine collaboration, but a really good one.DSCF8112Espre, first one of the year, one of many I hope.DSCF8111Almost impossible to comprehend that this is a first piece by an artist, but the Inksurgeon, as his name suggests, normally performs wonders on a much smaller scale. It’s not bad for a debut (!), wonder what he’ll do next…DSCF8091I never was a fan of the Muppets, the only characters I ever really liked were Waldorf and Statler, Rateone must have read my mind!DSCF8107Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad, another cracker from Pawski.DSCF8108Skull by Mace, crikey what a scorcher.DSCF8085 StitchSkint and Sour collab, apologies for the poor pic, but they will paint in such awkward places!.DSCF8021Gradually disappearing as is the nature of all things graffiti, the first cat/manatee by Phlegm. Although as some pieces go this is probably antique.DSCF8150Some of Sheffields up and coming, mixed with a few that have been around a while, don’t think that slow fellow will go far though…

Can somebody do something to stop all this rain please, I think I’m starting with trenchfoot. Thank you! 🙂

Autumnal Activities

DSCF7144Even though the weather has certainly turned autumnal, there’s still a lot going on in the city, I revisited one of my favourite urbex spots to get this Mila K x Skint piece. DSCF7165Stood at the tramstop and spotted this eyecatching little number!DSCF7228I’m sure Skint said he’d never paint the ballcourts again, must be an imposter! 😉DSCF7310 StitchThis is a bit of a cobbled together photo, the pieces by Prone and CoLor were completed a few days before Espre finished his bit. unfortunately somebody felt the need to ruin CoLors piece before I could get a complete finished shot, so this is a composite set of three images taken several days apart. This seems to be happening a lot lately, with several artists being targeted, not big and not clever. As you can see it was a great wall, if only for a short time. DSCF7219I don’t know who did this, Aspirin, may or may not be a clue, whoever did it, I like it, a lot.DSCF7197I’m not sure who did this either, but it’s ace. I now have it on good authority that this piece is by Meth, which I thought it might be, but wasn’t sure.DSCF6914Xhastexo x Bine x Greenz, a lovely combination. DSCF6944H2i member Pawski, flying solo on this one, awesome as per usual, and he just about finished it before it went dark!DSCF7241 StitchH2i, were out in force for this one, Pawski, Mace, Mars, Evo and Seed spent the Remembrance weekend on this truly wonderful production, a very fitting tribute to the fallen.DSCF7171And now for something completely different! Bunny !

Art In The Garden

DSCF5382Just before popping off on my holidays I called in at this event at the Nursery Tavern, organised by My Life Project https://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Life-Project/275414552515098 . I had expected a small scale event with just a few local artists, how wrong I was! Kisk and Trik 9 were working together on a wall.

DSCF5375Faunagraphic was busy on a beautiful piece featuring British wildlife.

DSCF5395Meth had been and gone by the time I got there.

DSCF5378Caught the lovely Mr Coloquix at work.

DSCF5398 StitchJaer and Gzos had completed this awesome wall.

DSCF6690Such completed a great piece featuring roadrunner.

DSCF669410 and Espre had done their bit.

DSCF6701Ryak, Lone, Kode and Cantastic Art each made a colourful contribution, stunning wall.

DSCF6702No party would be complete without Eugene Booms.

DSCF6716Cantastic art also sneaked in a cheeky 3 wise monkeys piece.

DSCF5379The only work I didn’t get a finished shot of, the My Life Project van, undergoing a makeover from CoLor Art.

DSCF6697 StitchThe collaboration by Kisk and Trik9, super, smashing, great!

DSCF5386I’ve seen this fellow before at graff events, I think he’s working under cover, bloody good disguise though!

A lot more artists were painting than I expected, many others had called in for support and a catch up, it was great to see so many friendly faces.  🙂

Such a fantastic event, lots of artists and lots of spectators, the landlord was an absolute star as well, I do hope they do it again.

Guess Who’s Back? Back Again!

DSCF5328Quick round up of stuff seen out and about, got a bit of a backlog, due to being offline so to speak. First up a Barbie sticker, new to the scene but putting the work in and getting out there. Girl Power!

DSCF5320EMA gave the Access space a new lick of paint.

DSCF5311 StitchRiseone and Jonas were on the gatecrasher boards briefly.

DSCF5275Suek and Sour created a number of new characters, this one is by Suek, I think this little chap is my most favourite.DSCF5283CoLor Art, stopped taking the medication I see 😉

DSCF5291Interesting pasteup by Kent, a sculptor, I like these, definitely different.

DSCF5299Espre, what can I say, love it!DSCF6671Cantastic Art, trying something a little different with a reproduction of an image that’s been floating around the internet. I don’t know who it was by, not that it matters really in my opinion, it’s a quality piece and a fitting nod to the original.

DSCF6675Trevor by Trevor, with teeth!DSCF6682Skint, going green, an eco craftsman?DSCF6689Xhastexo and Bine have formed a formidable partnership, producing bigger and better pieces one after the other at the moment, excellent!

So yes, I’m back on it, more posts coming very soon 🙂

New Urban Era,Tamworth, Heroes and Villains 2013

DSCF3935 Stitch (5000x1120)Don’t know where to start, Tamworth is an awesome annual event, organised by Vic of New Urban Era ,and it was once again amazing. And it’s fair to say that the Sheffield Massive was, well massive….The lush wall above by Jaer, Espre, Ryak and Booms was just part of it.

DSCF3806 DSCF4001There was also CoLor and Foundry representing.

DSCF3985 StitchPawski, Mace and adopted yorkshireman Shoe worked on another stunner.

DSCF3885And not forgetting the talented Duse, pushing his boundaries a bit with this brilliant  Joker piece.

DSCF3734 DSCF3909Skema was having a bad day that was good for everyone else as he fell out with each piece he did, 3 in all and painted over 2 of them, but they all looked great to me.

DSCF3879 DSCF3876 DSCF3853Silen T Bill, whom I believe I was talking to in the Wimpy, did this clever YMCA piece and the Hulk piece is by the charming, as always, Jay Sharples. D7606s’ post boxes made an appearance too and it was a pleasure to meet the man himself.

DSCF3688 DSCF3959Hull Graffiti, like the Dynamo of the graff world, you can see his cans and bits of card, but even if you stand and watch him work and you’ve no idea how he does it!

DSCF3963 StitchMet some lovely chaps from Bristol, Shab, Cage One and Pen, who painted alongside the wonderful Steve Edwards.

DSCF3988Cracking piece from Camz featuring Dastardly and Muttley.

DSCF3990Brave, blooming marvellous.

DSCF3922Glimmertwin produced this Clockwork Orange piece, jaw dropping.

DSCF3928DSCF3934Emptea and Saker produced a fantastic piece of work, that is certainly different to anything I’ve seen them do before and Saker definitely wins my vote for the scariest mask of the day!

DSCF4003Nice to catch up with good people, Crisp and Tim (Brink Arts), love the wall too.

DSCF3999It’s exhausting this painting lark, featuring Sky High, Eureka and others.

DSCF3981Step Tone 39, getting beyond superlatives, I’ll go with Wow!

DSCF3991Ster, fabulous, that is all.

DSCF3977Anybody who knows me knows I’m not generally stuck for words, but when it came to Gnasher, I was. So chuffed to see him in action, so annoyed with myself that I hadn’t got the bottle to talk to him…

DSCF3863I don’t know how that happened, really.

DSCF3937So yes it was a brilliant day saw a lot of lovely people I already knew, met a lot of lovely people I won’t forget and wussed out on talking to Gnasher….. Oh and did I mention that the wonderful Espre painted something especially for me, good job I’m not big headed… much!
