Why thank you Miso!TCM wonderful wall, featuring Zero, Trik9, Prone Kode, Mars and Legal.Mist1, Sheffield legend, had someone in Bristol asking me about this chap.Link, had a birthday recently I hear… Sico, with a valentine message for someone special, I think 🙂 Pawski, on top form with this lovely lady.Alex Ekins tribute/show of solidarity to the Charlie Hebdo victims. Olds, not sure if he’s a local or a regular visitor, but I like his work.Stampy Longnose, by one of the youngest artists on the scene at the tender age of 8!Ogosh x Alas deadly combination.
I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to put this post together, but it has. The jam at the ball courts, Sheffields biggest graff event on the calendar, was as always well attended with many of the great and the good from here and further afield turning up to paint. Byne and Haste were on it, in the same spot as last year, I believe.Iron Man being wonderfully recreated by Mace.Ryak, dressed appropriately for the weather,as were many others, because it was blooming hot!, working on their signature pieces.Si2, Hull Graffiti working his magic again, I’m so glad he likes coming to this city.Kosh painting a pooch.Trik9, having a little dancing interlude.
Only paid a flying visit to the jam on the day, due to having a very hot dog with me! Here’s some finished masterpieces.Si2 Hull Graffiti.Meth, CoLor, Kode and Lone.Byne and Haste.MTH, Irek Onger and Suer.Surge.Sone.Haven’t got a decent shot of this complete due to the goals being put back up, don’t know the artists name either.Cantastic Art.This one was spoilt by the goal too.I don’t know the names of these guys, sorry.Trik9, Prone and Xanone.Pawski and Shoe.Public Offender.Open and Link.Ryak and ?.Core.And finally…
Sadly, as much as this is an annual event, so too is the dogging of some of the pieces as soon as the jam is over, lucky there was some star who came and retouched them all…… warms the cockles of my heart! 🙂
Prones’ first burner of the year, with a very appropriate quote from Nikola Tesla, not sure that he was referring to graffiti though.TCM – Rack One, Lone Kode Trik and Bern, awesome!A touching piece by Robo, a lovely tribute.Suek, I love this, hurts my head, but love it anyway. Temal, anybody know if there is a significance to the me me me?Cantastic Art, like this much.Fox by ABC, new to Sheffield I think, good to see new artists getting out and about.Foundry, Pawski and Ample Aerosolisz, simply amazing.Mr Kent, seems to know more about my childhood than I would like…Sour, sneaky piece.Eug x CoLor Art, not a new one, just took me a while to get around to seeing it.And this weeks award for painting in awkward places to photograph goes to Bine and Xastexo, fabulous staircase, pictures don’t do it justice. Oh and this is is Jim, apparently.
Some of the pieces shown have already disappeared under the Halloween walls, but they’re very worthy of a viewing here. I don’t know this Gusk, a visitor I think, but I like it.Gzos, holy cow!MTH had paid a visit, not sure of the individual names, but it’s Boaster on the right. And Dilk on the left.Don’t know who but it’s fresh. It’s by Tals, a lovely lady writer, thanks for the info.Don’t know this one either, but I’m guessing part of MTH I can read this (!) , but I read it wrong and it’s Irek.CoLor Art and Eug, love the colours in this.Eug busy as always,Teas, a welcome but less frequent visitor, he should get out more.KRS One by Mars,H2i, awesome!D7606s post box featuring Marilyn Monroe, love it.One of Coloquix’ luscious ladies.Nice to see Prone back on it after his extended tour of America with this colourful collab with Lone.Kisk, Risk, Trik9 and Such, with an absolute stunner.Sadhu by Alex Ekins, and me, contemplating the universe, as you do.
I’m almost up to date since my holiday, apart from all the ones I haven’t got to yet!
I love Halloween, and I’ve been well happy this year that so many artists have got into the spirit, so to speak. Love this piece by Coloquix.Part of a huge wall in the city centre, this section features Trik9, Jaer and New Yorker Eli One.Trik9(again) and Kisks’ bit.Such, with the most amazing Evil Mickey I have ever seen, Kode and Lone.Gzos’ contribution. The whole wall is fantastic,I broke it down into sections so you can see more of the detail.CoLor Art went over to the darkside. Mila Ks piece, sensational as always. This beast of a wall features the talents of Booms, CoLor Art, Danks, Trik9 and Prone.Lone did this spooktacular(did I just say that!) take on Jason.
All in all made me a very happy undead vampire bunny!
Just before popping off on my holidays I called in at this event at the Nursery Tavern, organised by My Life Project https://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Life-Project/275414552515098 . I had expected a small scale event with just a few local artists, how wrong I was! Kisk and Trik 9 were working together on a wall.
A lot more artists were painting than I expected, many others had called in for support and a catch up, it was great to see so many friendly faces. 🙂
Such a fantastic event, lots of artists and lots of spectators, the landlord was an absolute star as well, I do hope they do it again.
Third and final trip, probably, to Wakefield and the last ‘Revive’ Jam of the year, and what a turnout! Kem Mef paid a visit and did a cracking piece that I managed to not get a single decent shot of.
Apologies to any artist painting that aren’t featured, once again just too much good stuff, not that I’m complaining…
Sadly though I have to report a number of the large pieces had been dogged within days, jealousy makes children of some people it would seem…. but lots of photos were taken on the day by lots of photographers, so the images will remain in all their glory on line at least.
Skema and Apps travelled up early from Walsall to take part in this years Jam, producing a stunning Star Wars themed collaboration. Perhaps it was part of a cunning plan to make sure they got finished sooner and didn’t fry like the rest of us, because it was certainly a scorcher.
So yes all in all a good day out, met lots of people, got burnt to a crisp, saw some wonderful graffiti/art, got a Booms piece of my own and had some fabulous indian food, does it get any better than that? Probably not…
P.S. Apologies to any artist not featured here, there was just too much!
A sign we’ve had some decent weather recently, the pace of work in the city has been frenetic. A recent visitor to Sheffield Rateone, brought a cuddly cyclops with him.Boms and CoLor Art produced this clever collaboration that is even better in the flesh.
Mila has been busy too with the fab piece above and the wonderful character below which, is in such a place that a little conversation kept running through my head….’So can you tell me how you managed to break your leg a second time?’…’Well, it was like this…!’
And that’s not the half of it!!
