City Centre Tootle

DSCF9297Love the positioning of this Kent piece.DSCF9293A friend of a friend bought a ventriloquists dummy from an antique shop on Abbeydale Road and every time they had friends round for dinner they would set a place for the dummy, not weird at all! I understand that this creation is being used as an album cover.DSCF9336 The peregrines at St. Georges have laid 4 eggs this year, I wonder if they have seen this awesome piece by Faunagraphic.DSCF9341Rocket01 getting busy again creating this lovely lady. I still think the badges are a marvellous personal touch. DSCF9339DSCF9304 StitchJaer, Mars and friends have redecorated some car park boards, they look really good but I’ve struggled to get a decent pic of the full wall without a car in front of it. I went back at the weekend to try my luck again only to find the car park owners have stuck signs all the way along it.DSCF9309One of Xhastexos  luscious ladies, he certainly has a variety of characters in his  repertoir….DSCF9346 Good to see this Booms piece is not lost forever, didn’t expect to see it in a tattoo studio though.DSCF9280 StitchRayna, loving this letter style.DSCF9289Another masterpiece from Skint,he’s becoming quite adept in painting in bloody awkward spots to photograph, I’m sure he does it on purpose!

I met a very nice (business)man this weekend who tells me he has big (very big) plans for a charity graffiti wall on  a well known Sheffield landmark, I do hope it all comes together, it will be amazing!

City Boredom Breaker

DSCF8359Due to the abjectly miserable weather didn’t venture far on my last wander, still, there’s plenty to see in the centre of town. Seeing this name appearing more and more around the city, Rime.DSCF8457Not sure if this was a deliberate collaboration or an accidental coming together of EMA, Kid Acne and Kent, like it though.DSCF8450My second near death experience of the year,or at least it would have been if I’d been daft enough to get off the makeshift ladder onto the rotten floor. Love this Zinc piece.DSCF8440Wish I knew who this was by, but I don’t. Thanks 😀 I now know it’s Sico.DSCF8428Rayna, a little different from his usual letters.DSCF8424Brisk,another writer becoming more visible in town. Variety is the spice of life and all that, good to have some fresh talent.DSCF8420Ogosh, as in ogosh that’s rather good! DSCF8406Narke, 4 tin burn, wicked colour scheme.DSCF8405A marvellous piece from Dyson, a master of his craft.DSCF8465 StitchPopped in to Kid Acnes exhibition, met the man himself, definitely worth a visit.DSCF8515Avoided near death experiences 3 and 4 by keeping my feet firmly on the ground to catch these Eug pieces, I’ll leave the climbing to those younger and fitter than me.DSCF8497DSCF8528Lastly on my little wander I revisited a Phlegm piece that has been ravaged by nature to fantastic effect. I was still pulling thorns out of my legs when I went to bed, but I figured it was worth it 🙂

Just A Walkin’ In The Sunshine

DSCF8195 StitchCheeky little hidden piece this, by Skint, worth braving the brambles for though.DSCF8198Took some pics of this awesome piece by Naked Mercury, who asked me not to post any shots of the piece before it was finished, well it’s finished now 🙂DSCF8219I worry about Coloquix sometimes, inspired by tarot cards or a fascination with bondage, you decide! DSCF8226 StitchEug and CoLor Art, handy in any situation…DSCF8241Little sticky Tekonta Secta.DSCF8246 Stitch4Eyes and Tony C**t, yes that’s what it says.DSCF8253Toupe, from the north east I think, has paid us a visit again, I do like his work.DSCF8265I do know who did this, I think, but I’m not sure of his name, love the skulls though. What I meant to say was, I couldn’t remember his name, but I’ve been reminded, it’s ne_illustration.DSCF8275 Bob and the low winter sun.DSCF8291Rayna,quite an old one, clearly I don’t get out enough.DSCF8309Mars,not a new one, just took me ages to find it, and I only fell down one hole.DSCF8357I adore kid Acnes’ stabby women, there’s a new batch out and about, and he’s got an exhibition on here http://www.bandbgallery.com/future-exhibition-standard-practice-by-kid-acne well worth a visit.

All in all a pleasant day out even if I did look a bit of a prat with my one very muddy knee on the tram.

Graffiti Central

DSCF4977I am often amazed at the detail and skill that can go into graffiti, whether it be letters or characters, but sometimes it’s the simple things, that work best. I love this cheeky Bob piece, so simple, a quick throw up, but brilliant. I could watch him glaring at passers by all day.

DSCF4969 StitchJaer had some friends over to brighten these boards in the city centre.

DSCF4957 Stitch Mila’s been seeing double, with these gloriously sinister twins and Cantastics’ skills continue to go from strength to strength,

DSCF4951 Rayna has done a few of these around town, this is the best in my opinion.

DSCF4947 It’s a bear with a monobrow, what more can I say….Although I did manage, accidentally, to crash some band making a video at this location today, which made me laugh…

DSCF4944 Awesome character by Imer, letters by Jonas and then a quality Dyson piece as standard.

DSCF4938 Rambo, First Blood, I’m sure John J would be pleased.

DSCF4927C3, Rate One and D7606, interesting combination, like it a lot.

Some lovely things going on in town at the moment, good to see so many arty visitors making the trip too. I do hope the ‘in house’ shenanigans don’t spoil it.

Old Places, New Bits

DSCF3517Graffiti and urbex go pretty much hand in hand, although sadly due to its soaring popularity too much information is ending up in the public domain and as a result not many new locations appear these days and if they do the window of opportunity is usually very small before a building is sealed up again. That said, the old favourites still become accessible every now and then and I was lucky enough recently to revisit two places that have a special place in my heart. Clearly I wasn’t the only one, Booms had been here too, as had quite a few others.

DSCF3496Dyson, a piece with a view.

DSCF3493A lovely blue horned monster thing from Rate One.

DSCF3490Teml, I think, somebody will let me know if I’m wrong.

DSCF3484Tekonta Secta in pink, a girly Tek?

DSCF3467Smiley Selasie, not a regular contributor, or perhaps I’m looking in the wrong places.

DSCF3463Color x Booms an excellent combination.

DSCF3534Shrooms by Nymph.

DSCF3527One of Coloquixs’ growing number of beautiful cat ladies, and this one is in extra large!

DSCF3509Is it me or are these cats starting to take over the world?

DSCF3455On my way back I spotted this piece by Rayna, a nice little find. Looking forward to what I may find next…

Got To Catch ’em All, Can’t Catch ’em All!

DSCF0376Rayna, Skint and Rambo, gorgeous wall in a room with not much of a view and a not so delicate odour of pigeon poop.

DSCF0406Teml at the green, wonder how long this one will last, extremely rapid turnover there at the moment.

DSCF0420Tekonta Secta, love these, seem to miss more than I find though..

DSCF0418Riseone and Rek have made a colourful contribution on the new legal wall  in town.

DSCF0417Mila x Narke another cracker!

DSCF0369Sour, really like the cheeky character, I wonder if he has a name?

DSCF0381DSCF0402The Morrigan and the Puffin by CoLor Art. I described the Morrigan as my favouritest CoLor piece to date, and then he did the puffin, just too good!

DSCF0419It’s not often I’m beaten in my attempts to see a piece, but when there aren’t any stairs, I am! There is a way, but I’m in no rush to have any more broken bones, thank you very much. It’s a shame because there are about 4 pieces up there that I’ll never see, can’t catch ’em all I guess…

The French Connection

DSCF9200Kid Acnes’ Art Fags have made a reappearance either side of a rather lush piece by Jan Garet, artist parisian. I do hope there will be more.

DSCF9177Love this piece by Rayna, don’t know much about this artist, which roughly translated, means absolutely nothing, but I do like his style.

DSCF9072Fauna Graphic completed this wonderful portrait of Harry Brearley on the centenary of his invention of rustless steel, later known as stainless steel.

DSCF9088Jaer has made his mark at the citys’ newest spot, I really need to ask him what the E is about.

DSCF9111French Connection part deux, EMA and another  Kid Acne Art Fag with CoLor Arts’ worm playing gooseberry…

DSCF9186Narke’s going green, it suits him too!

DSCF9172A huge EUG from the unstoppable Mr Booms will hopefully brighten the day of many a motorist as they pass.

DSCF8493Jaer Trik9 and Booms did this fantastic collaboration, the owner of the wall is so impressed with it, he’s going to put up more boards for them to paint!

DSCF9192Lastly we have another newcomer, liking these a lot 🙂
