Sheffield Calling

DSCF1408 Stitch (8000x1031)Much as I enjoy a road trip, I’m always mindful that I’ll be missing something going on in Sheffield. And I really hate missing out on things. Like this awesome collaboration between Such, Time, Pawski and the mighty Astek who made a trip up north and stopped for a paint while he was here.DSCF1415If you’re from this city you will be very aware of the terrible hit and run accident that resulted in serious injuries to one young girl and the tragic death of Jazzy Chan. This beautiful tribute appeared within days of the incident. I honestly do not know how the driver who did this can live with themselves.DSCF1396Trik9 just keeps getting better, love these characters. The man himself has an exhibition on in September, can’t wait to see it. DSCF0806Not seen one of these before, can anyone tell me what a Doriscy is? DSCF0802Cheeky little Greenz piece I spotted.DSCF0671The finished Rocket and Fauna piece Eye Catching, very!DSCF0658Trik9, again, because everyone loves TMNT right?DSCF0599 StitchBurn, Lone and Rack One, part of a larger collaboration that was pretty amazing, but sadly rather badly damaged by the time I got to it. DSCF1500Had to wait years, literally, to see this piece in the flesh, no idea who did it, but it was worth the wait.DSCF1418Cantastic Art, constantly trying new things, I really like this. DSCF1422Methosaurus, I can’t get enough of the awesome characters Meth is coming out with lately.DSCF1428Osiris, bluetiful! 😉 Osim not  osiris sorry.DSCF0648Not sure who did this, Suek maybe, but I have been wrong before…but not this time 🙂DSCF0636 StitchAsim and Erase? I probably shouldn’t be guessing, but whoever it is I like it. Osim not asim… I’ll get my coat….

I know I’ve got loads more to catch up on, better get my hiking boots on!

Catching up

DSCF6772Some of the pieces shown have already disappeared under the Halloween walls, but they’re very worthy of a viewing here. I don’t know this Gusk, a visitor I think, but I like it.DSCF6779Gzos, holy cow!DSCF6780 StitchMTH had paid a visit, not sure of the individual names, but it’s Boaster on the right. And Dilk on the left.DSCF6780Don’t know who but it’s fresh. It’s by Tals, a lovely lady writer, thanks for the info.DSCF6781Don’t know this one either, but I’m guessing part of MTHDSCF6784 I can read this (!) , but I read it wrong and it’s Irek.DSCF6790CoLor Art and Eug, love the colours in this.DSCF6837Eug busy as always,Teas, a welcome but less frequent visitor, he should get out more.DSCF6885KRS One by Mars,H2i, awesome!DSCF6770D7606s post box featuring Marilyn Monroe, love it.DSCF6829One of Coloquix’ luscious ladies.DSCF6889Nice to see Prone back on it after his extended tour of America with this colourful collab with Lone.DSCF7131 StitchKisk, Risk, Trik9 and Such, with an absolute stunner.DSCF7175Sadhu by Alex Ekins, and me, contemplating the universe, as you do.

I’m almost up to date since my holiday, apart from all the ones I haven’t got to yet!

This is Halloween

DSCF7157I love Halloween, and I’ve been well happy this year that so many artists have got into the spirit, so to speak. Love this piece by Coloquix.DSCF7102 Stitch (2) (6000x1160)Part of a huge wall in the city centre, this section features Trik9, Jaer and New Yorker Eli One.DSCF7122 StitchTrik9(again) and Kisks’ bit.DSCF7111 StitchSuch, with the most amazing Evil Mickey I have ever seen, Kode and Lone.DSCF7109 StitchGzos’ contribution. The whole wall is fantastic,I broke it down into sections so you can see more of the detail.DSCF7005CoLor Art went over to the darkside. DSCF7101Mila Ks piece, sensational as always. DSCF6763 StitchThis beast of a wall features the talents of Booms, CoLor Art, Danks, Trik9 and Prone.DSCF6752Lone did this spooktacular(did I just say that!) take on Jason.

All in all made me a very happy undead vampire bunny!

Art In The Garden

DSCF5382Just before popping off on my holidays I called in at this event at the Nursery Tavern, organised by My Life Project https://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Life-Project/275414552515098 . I had expected a small scale event with just a few local artists, how wrong I was! Kisk and Trik 9 were working together on a wall.

DSCF5375Faunagraphic was busy on a beautiful piece featuring British wildlife.

DSCF5395Meth had been and gone by the time I got there.

DSCF5378Caught the lovely Mr Coloquix at work.

DSCF5398 StitchJaer and Gzos had completed this awesome wall.

DSCF6690Such completed a great piece featuring roadrunner.

DSCF669410 and Espre had done their bit.

DSCF6701Ryak, Lone, Kode and Cantastic Art each made a colourful contribution, stunning wall.

DSCF6702No party would be complete without Eugene Booms.

DSCF6716Cantastic art also sneaked in a cheeky 3 wise monkeys piece.

DSCF5379The only work I didn’t get a finished shot of, the My Life Project van, undergoing a makeover from CoLor Art.

DSCF6697 StitchThe collaboration by Kisk and Trik9, super, smashing, great!

DSCF5386I’ve seen this fellow before at graff events, I think he’s working under cover, bloody good disguise though!

A lot more artists were painting than I expected, many others had called in for support and a catch up, it was great to see so many friendly faces.  🙂

Such a fantastic event, lots of artists and lots of spectators, the landlord was an absolute star as well, I do hope they do it again.

Sharrow Graff Jam 2013

DSCF2241Skema and Apps travelled up early from Walsall to take part in this years Jam, producing a stunning Star Wars themed collaboration. Perhaps it was part of a cunning plan to make sure they got finished sooner and didn’t fry like the rest of us, because it was certainly a scorcher.

DSCF2318Meth looking very dapper as he worked on a piece in his trademark style.

DSCF2267Mis Red, not been out and about as much as I’d like to see, produced a lush cats and mouse piece, hope there will be more soon.

DSCF2321Trik9, excellent as always.

DSCF2316Xhastexo and Bine, a winning combination, fuelled by Budweiser!

DSCF2334DSCF2332DSCF2330Bob, Public Offender and I’m not sure who, painted some of the smaller panels on the outside of the ball court.

DSCF2314I like this and wish my reading of letters was better, so I could tell you who it was.

DSCF2296Mr Ryak, always nice to see.

DSCF2340MTH Crew, great to see them in Sheffield, a really talented bunch.

DSCF2840Kosy, cannot tell you how happy I was that he came and did a piece at the jam and that I met him and he was great!

DSCF2834Si2, Hull Graffiti, I can watch this guy paint all day he’s like a magician, even if you’re watching his every move, you still don’t know how he does it.

DSCF2337Five Five in action.

DSCF2837Such, organiser of the graff jam, love the colours in this.

DSCF2842Lone and Bern key artists at the jam…DSCF2843…as is Kode it wouldn’t be the same without them.

DSCF2831Last but by no means least Pawski, Shoe and Mace, a force to be reckoned with. A fantastic piece, again, can’t wait to see what they pull out of the bag for Tamworth.

So yes all in all a good day out, met lots of people, got burnt to a crisp, saw some wonderful graffiti/art, got a Booms piece of my own and had some fabulous indian food, does it get any better than that? Probably not…

P.S. Apologies to any artist not featured here, there was just too much!

Sharrow Festival 2012

DSCF0883Due to the glorious english summer weather, the Sharrow Festival had to be rearranged for October. Unfortunately this meant that a number of the artists were unable to reschedule, but there was still a good turnout. Meth had got done early.DSCF0915

Kode and Lone were on it.

DSCF0965

Trik 9 did a spot of painting between rounds of breakdancing.

DSCF1019

Such, co-ordinator of the graff jam, doing his thing.

DSCF0978

Old school legend Ask painted for the first time in what was apparently a long time, a really impressive piece too.

DSCF1041

Si2, Hull Graffiti made it over to do one of his fantastic works.

DSCF1062

Duse was on it, and hopefully would finish before it got dark!

DSCF1036

Canz did one of his best pieces to date.

As I was still in the wheelchair, we didn’t stay too late as it soon turns cold when you’re just sat. I was glad I went though and hopefully the jam will be back in more seasonable weather next summer.
